September 2010
It is not often you get to work with a double Olympic champion, so we were delighted to play a part in the official opening of the new Nottingham University Samworth Academy (NUSA) in Mansfield this week.
The £24m academy building was officially opened by none other than Dame Kelly Holmes, who won gold in both the 800m and 1500m at the Athens Olympics. An inspirational figure for the students, Dame Kelly visited the school to tour the new facilities and unveil the commemorative plaque marking this new chapter in the school’s history.
Fit for a Champion
For such a prestigious opening, the academy required a permanent marker that reflected the quality of their new building. We manufactured a traditional Polished Brass Plaque, deep-engraved with the academy’s logo and the details of the opening ceremony.
The brass plate was mounted onto a solid mahogany-finish timber backboard, providing a classic, dignified contrast that ensures the text stands out clearly. This type of Engraved Brass Plaque is the gold standard for school openings and civic buildings, designed to last as long as the building itself.
A Winning Result
At Premier Engraving, we understand that an opening ceremony has to be right on the day. There are no second chances when the VIP is standing there ready to reveal the plaque.
We are proud to have delivered a “gold medal” service for the Nottingham University Samworth Academy and wish the staff and students every success in their new home.
