We were delighted to receive another Royal commission this month, this time for the College of Occupational Therapists (now the Royal College of Occupational Therapists).
Following an extensive £4 million refurbishment of their headquarters near London Bridge, the College welcomed their Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, to officially reopen the building. As a long-standing supporter of the profession, Her Royal Highness toured the modernized facilities and met with staff and members before leading the official unveiling ceremony.
A Modern Finish
To reflect the contemporary look of the refurbished headquarters, the organisers moved away from traditional brass and opted for a Brushed Stainless Steel Plaque. This material offers a clean, architectural aesthetic that sits perfectly within modern office environments.
The plaque was chemically etched and infilled with black enamel for the text, while the College’s logo was essentially etched to ensure every detail was crisp and clear. Mounted on a light wood backboard, the result was a sophisticated, professional marker for this significant milestone in the College’s history.
The Big Reveal
As the plaque was not yet mounted on the wall, the College utilized our complete Ceremonial Hire Service. We provided a freestanding easel and our specialist Unveiling Curtains to ensure the moment of reveal went smoothly.
For this occasion, Forest Green velvet curtains were chosen to complement the College’s branding. As you can see from the image, the curtains provided a smart, contrasting frame for the silver plaque, allowing The Princess Royal to perform the unveiling with ease.
